Sinhala And Tamil New Year Festival 

Sinhala and tamil new year falls in the month of April every year. It is celebrated by sinhala buddhist and tamil hindus in sri lanka. 


We clean and repoint our houses, buy new clothes before the new year downs. We prepare traditional sweet meals such as oil cakes, kokis, mun aluwa and asmi are some of them. 

Not only we hear fire crockers throughout this month. The auspicious time is very important to us in these days. Because all sri lankans take part in retuals the auspicious time. We have various fun games such as tuy of war, pillow fighting and keep the elephants eye are some of them. 


Which brigs so much joy to all. Who are gathered to take part and even to cheer. So this time of the year. Offers all sri lankans a chance to offer gratitude and celebrate as one family.
